The route from Naxos to Paros is served by both conventional and high speed/catamaran ferries.
High-speed vessels are smaller and they are equipped with more powerful engines, allowing passengers to reach their destinations faster. By contrast, conventional ferries are much bigger and slower, but they also tend to be more budget-friendly.
Additionally, conventional ferries have large garages, capable of transporting a great number of vehicles, whereas not all high-speed vessels have a garage. Those that do, only have a limited vehicle capacity.
Due to their smaller size, high-speed ferries are more easily affected by bad weather conditions, so there may be delays.

The distance between the two islands is 17 nautical miles (20 miles or 31 kilometers).
The duration of the trip depends on the ferry type you are traveling with, as well as on the company and the route. The duration of the journey with a high-speed vessel varies from 20 minutes to 30 minutes, while the trip with a conventional ferry lasts around 45 minutes. However, there may be high-speed ferries that need more time to reach Paros, as they stop at other islands along the way too.

In conventional ferries, these seats are situated on the deck or in internal lounges and they are not numbered, so your ticket does not correspond to a specific seat. The port of Naxos

All ferries depart from the port of Naxos, which is located in Chora, the island's capital. As it is a small port, spotting your ferry is very easy.

Ferries bound for Paros arrive at Parikia Port, which is also located in the island's capital.

Both islands are highly popular among both Greeks and foreigners. The high number of visitors causes traffic within and around the port, so being there at least 1 hour before the official departure time is strongly recommended.

Luggage policies in Greek ferries are quite flexible.
Most companies allow 40 kg or 0.5 cubic meters of luggage per passenger and provide a luggage storage area on each ferry. If you wish, though, you can take your luggage with you to the lounges or the deck (if available).
It is highly recommended that you leave bulky suitcases in the designated area and take only your personal belongings (wallet, keys, mobile phone, etc.) with you upstairs.

In order to take your car or motorbike to Paros, you need to purchase a vehicle ticket.
Drivers should be at the port 60-90 minutes before the official departure time.
For safety reasons, entering the garage while the ferry is sailing is strictly forbidden.
Note: Many car rental companies do not allow customers to ferry their vehicles. We recommend avoiding purchasing a vehicle ticket before contacting your car rental company.

Though both Naxos and Paros have an airport, there are no direct flights between the two islands, as these airports are only connected to Athens. However, both Santorini and Mykonos have international airports receiving direct flights from various European countries, so you could fly to one of these islands and then take the ferry to Paros.
